P5T - Prognosis Five Tertial (4 month period)
P5T is a method or process to improve prognosis and budget work.
In conjunction to the method, Ekeblad Consulting AB offers tool-support in the form of a process map,
Excel and SQL solution as well as process templates.
The focus is on
- Planning instead of calculating.
- Market analysis rather than resource analysis.
- Income evaluation rather than cost evaluation.
P5T builds on the idea to plan for five running tertials (4 month periods).
- Plan with a tertial base rather than month or quarter as all tertial is
approximately equal. For examle they each include a period of holydays of
main vacation.
- Make a prognosis at the end of each tertial and make the prognosis for
the upcoming 5 tertial.
- Make one prognosis per business unit.
- A prognosis consists of a commercial evaluation, evaluation of recourses
needed and cost estimate
P5T is used at Tyréns/ Temaplan.
